Haji Abdul Aziz was appointed as the Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office in 2008. He was the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office from 2006-2007.
Haji Abdul Aziz started his career as a District Judge at the Temburong district in 1992. In 1995, he was the Belait District Judge. In 1998, he held the position of Senior Religious Officer at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Five years later, he was appointed the Assistant Director of the Islamic Legal Unit at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. He was the Chief Syarie Prosecutor, Ministry of Religious Affairs from 2005-2006 before he was appointed as the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Haji Abdul Aziz holds a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A) in Usuluddin Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt. He also holds a Bachelor of Law from National University, Malaysia.
Haji Abdul Aziz likes brace walking and soccer. He is married with 3 sons and 6 daughters.
