Sa Bali Abas joins the Prime Minister’s Office as the Permanent Secretary in 2008. He was born on 16 December 1958. He graduated from London Metropolitan University and did his diploma in University of Luton in the United Kingdom.


He first join the Brunei Civil Services on 1983 as an Administrative Officer at the Public Service Department, Prime Minister’s Office. From 1988 to 1995, attached to the Office of the Honorable Advisor of His Majesy the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, who was the Minister of Home Affairs.

In 1995, join the Immigration and National Registration Department, Ministry of Home Affairs as Deputy Director then transferred and promoted as Director-level in the Prime Minister’s Office.

Again transferred to Immigration and National Registration Department as the Director in 1999, then in 2004 moved to Management Services Department under the Prime Minister’s Office. Later promoted to Director General of the Public Services Department of Prime Minister’s Office in 2007.

He has been awarded with various meritorious award by the Government such as: Pingat Indah Kerja Baik (PIKB), Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK), Bintang Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei Yang Amat Mulia Darjah Ketiga (SMB), Bintang Darjah Setia Negara Brunei Yang Amat Berbahagia Darjah Ketiga (SNB) and Pingat Kerja Lama (PKL).
