PERMANENT SECRETARY
Haji Omar bin Haji Abdul Rahman joins the Prime Minister’s Office as the Permanent Secretary in 2009. He was born in 14 June 1955 and married with Mdm Hajah Rosni binti Haji Tungkat and they have 4 sons. He graduated from University of East Anglia, Norwich in the United Kingdom.
He first joined the Civil Service in 1980 at the Establishment Department in the Government Sekretariat Office. Since then he has been attached to the Office of the Honorable Advisor of His Majesy the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, who was then the Minister of Home Affairs (1983-1988), Radio Television Brunei (1988), Public Service Department (1988-1989), Government Printing Department (1989-1992), Immigration and National Registration Department (1992-1995), Ministry of Home Affairs (1995-1999), Ministry of Religious Affairs (1999-2002), Labour Department (2002-2007) and Ministry of Home Affairs (2007-2008).
He has been awarded with meritorious award by the Government: Pingat Indah Kerja Baik (PIKB), Meritorious Service Medal -PJK, The Most Honourable Order of Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei (3rd Class) - SMB, The Most Blessed Oder of Setia Negara (The Third Class)- SNB and Pingat Kerja Lama (PKL).
