MEDIA

The Media Division has the mission of promoting the good image of an effective and caring Government of His Majesty the Sultan yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. It has the responsibility to foster better understanding between the Government and its various stakeholders including citizens, community, media agencies as well as government agencies through effective public communication.

The Media Division oversees the implementation of the strategic plan of Radio Television Brunei, the Information Department as well as the Printing Department and their related activities. Besides media accreditation, and as the ‘central’ agency of the Public Relation functions across ministries, the Division closely monitors all hard and soft publications which are related to the country, the Government of His Majesty and or the Royal Family. The Division also plays a role in facilitating the making of numerous publications as well as films about the country.

In the political arena, the division has the responsibility to uphold the close co operations and relationships with other countries under the Memorandum of Understanding in the area of information and broadcasting.

One of the plans the Division is developing is to tap on the opportunities of New Media as well as to propel the creative economy through the development and promotion of the creative industries in the country, which has the aim to create new economic value and jobs.
