
E-Government Leadership Forum (EGLF) was established on 3rd March 2007 and is chaired by the Minister of Enenrgy at the Prime Minister’s Office. Its members consist of a Permanent Secretary from each Ministry and the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The Deputy Permanent Secretary (IT and E-Government) of Prime Minister’s Office was meanwhile appointed as the Overall Government Chief Information Officer and is responsible for chairing the “CIO Dialog”, which is made up of respective Ministries’ Chief Information Officers. This dialog aims to share the development and issues relevant to the implementation of e-Government at both Ministry and Department levels and later report these matters to EGLF. UPEK acts as the Secretariat to the CIO Dialogue.
Since 1st October 2007, the E-Government Technical Authority Body (EGTAB) has been on full operation with authority of regulatory and acts as a think-tank, with expertise to manage e-Government projects. At the same time, EGTAB is also hoped to assist in the planning of Human Resource in the ICT field and also to be of guidance to the private companies in the development of the country’s ICT industry. EGTAB is also part of the Authority for Info-Communication Technology Industry (AiTi).
E-Government National Centre (EGNC) was established on 1st April 2008 as a department under the Prime Minister’s Office. EGNC mainly functions as a service provider in terms of Data Centre operations, IT Procurement and Human Resource in the field of IT, related to e-Government initiatives.
E-Government Strategic Plan (2009-2014) outlines the strategic priorities to provide citizen-centric services and introduce Civil Service Reform.
