By command of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Ministry of Finance informs that His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to appointment of Yang Mulia Awang Yusof bin Haji Abdul Rahman, the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Administration) at the Ministry of Finance to be seconded as the Managing Director of the Brunei Islamic Trust Fund, TAIB with his position as Deputy Permanent Secretary still retained.

By Command of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Prime Minister's Office hereby announces that His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to the appointment of Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Pendikar Alam DCP Dato Paduka Haji Hasrin bin Dato Paduka Haji Sabtu, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operation) as temporary Acting Commissioner of Police.

Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah celebrated the achievements of 61 of its students with an award ceremony held at Dewan Takaful Dar Takaful IBB Utama in the capital.

The school fetes excellence in both academic and in memorising Al-Quran every year, as a motivation that would create an environment of competition and improve the school's achievement.

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has sent congratulatory messages to Al-Wathiqu Billah Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong XIII of Malaysia, and Prime Minister Dato' Sri Muhd Najib Tun Hj Abdul Razak on the occasion of its 53rd Independence Day today.

In the message to Al-Wathiqu Billah Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, His Majesty expressed that he greatly values the longstanding friendship and close cooperation that has existed between Brunei and Malaysia.
